A trained veterinarian and an epidemiologist specializing in nutrition, Cécilia Samieri studies the role of lifestyle factors, specifically diet, in the etiology of brain pathologies such as Alzheimer’s and strokes. After studying a Master’s at the University of Bordeaux and a post-doctorate at Harvard Medical School, she is now a researcher at the Fondation Plan Alzheimer at the Centre de Recherche Bordeaux Population Health Inserm U1219 in Bordeaux, where she explores the interactions between diet and genetics on brain ageing within a single French cohort and several American cohorts.
