After training in Lille, Boston and Paris, Stéphanie Debette joined the University of Bordeaux and the University hospital as a professor of epidemiology and a practicing neurologist. She is also an associate professor in the department of epidemiology at the Boston University School of Medicine. She now heads the Centre INSERM U1219 Bordeaux Population Health. Her research focuses on studying the genetic and environmental risk factors of cerebrovascular pathology. She is also the lead researcher and coordinator of numerous international projects, including the SEGWAY study funded by the European Research Council. These projects are carried out in collaboration with international consortia that include CHARGE, CADISP and ISGC.
